So, no luck involved - just confidence in your ability to use the camera to take the sort of photo that you want to create.
The Practical Beginners Photography Course will give you all the skills necessary to be able to decide the type of photo that you want to take BEFORE you press the shutter. Yes, it is that easy!
And, if for whatever reason, the photo does not come out exactly as you intended, then you will have the skills to make the necessary adjustments to you camera so that it does.
The Practical Beginners Photography Course will give you the confidence to be able to use your camera and create captivating images.
You will have a positive understanding of what the different settings on your camera are, and which ones are the important ones. You will probably only use a few of the settings.
All of the courses are run by member of the Royal Photographic Society and professional award winning photographer, Philip Pound LRPS who will give you hands on tuition on how to get the most from your camera.
As its name implies, the Practical Beginners Photography Course is practical and will involve you being given practical exercises under the expert guidance of Philip Pound LRPS.
The Practical Beginners Photography Course will provide you with a thorough understanding of:
How to use the main camera settings and what the various camera menus, dials and buttons do.
Apertures, ISO settings and shutter speeds and how they interact
How your choice of aperture, ISO and shutter speed will determine the exposure, the depth of field and the mood of the photo
What the various exposure settings are, what they do, and which ones to use.
What the various shooting modes are and how to use them INSTEAD OF the automatic or program mode
What RAW and Jpeg settings are and how you should set the camera to ensure optimum image quality.
Which focal length of lens to choose and how to compose the photograph for maximum impact.
All of this will put YOU IN CONTROL of the camera.
Part A of the Beginners Photography Course is practical and will involve you taking photos under the guidance of professional photographer Philip Pound LRPS.
You should get not one but lots of great photos.
The course is intended for people who own a Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR) or an advanced compact camera where it is possible to change the settings of the camera)
The Practical Beginners Photography Course involves 3 hours of practical private individual tuition in the area of London between Millennium Bridge and Southwark Bridge.
Cost for one person is £60 for 3 hours tuition. Bring a friend for only £30 extra. Maximum two people to ensure that you get the most from the tuition

[b]A subsequent B Theoretical Beginners Photography Course will be held during which you will learn how to take the images that you captured, resize them, change the colour balance for screen or prints, make minor enhancements to the photo, sharpen the images and process them for future use.
In short take the photo from the camera and make it appear on screen or print exactly the way that you intend.
Cost of course £60 per person. Bring a friend for an extra £30. Maximum two people per course to ensure that you get the most from the tuition.
